I know perfectly well what they are, I was referring to pyro legislation that under certain circumstances allows us to use pyro in airsoft games. It is in relation this that questions arise over the use of this new product. We know licensed product can be launched vertically, we know foam rubber things can be launched horizontally from tubes, we know 6mm plastic balls can be fired horizontally at people via narrow tubes, we know we can throw pyro (but not at people). What we don't know is whether it is OK to combine factors and whether impact detonating pyro is OK, and if it is what platforms it can be used with.

I've reached out to those that know and I'll see what comes of it.

not sure i'd like to use these on a horizontal trajectory but they may be perfect as mortar round's as a substitute for the expensive and unreliable tlfx rounds [link]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0zTy84rBxY[/link]

Yes, I use it on my Garand M7 grenade launcher. It is legal in Russia.

We have made M1 60mm us mortar replica as well. And now thinking about launching method and airsoft projectile type.

These are now for sale on Airsoft world (thanks for the tip off Boshman :good: )according to there sales blurb:

The projectile is made from trauma-safe, lightweight polyurethane foam which disintegrates into harmless foam fragments. The foam fragments are so light that they do not create a shrapnel hazard. The unbelievable accuracy of this grenade is caused by its spinning movement during the flight. This spinning stabilizes the grenade until detonation (3 seconds after launching out of the launching shell).

So would I be right in thinking that these would meet legal requirements?

£67 for ten makes them in the same price range as the TLFX rounds but hopefully more reliable , on the airsoft world web site they describe them as fitting all airsoft grenade launcher's and also as needing the propriety launcher to fire them , i may have to call them to find out , my guess is it needs to be struck on the bottom rather than just pushed on the bottom ,all current gas filled grenades just need the primer to be pushed in not struck and so the launcher's just have a push rod to fire them not a sprung higher impact type firing pin.i hope i'm wrong but it's not too clear on the description as they say both opposing thing's !

armoury
m1a1 Thompson,sten mk2,mp40,stg44,sterling,mk2 bren gun,lee Enfield no4 mk1,Mauser Kar98, Walther ppk,smith and Weston m10 and Mauser m712
Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
i'll kill a man in a fair fight or if i think he's going to start a fair fight or over a woman or.......
a problem shared is a problem halved ,but an advantage shared is no advantage at all
if a job's not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well

They use inertial ignition action.

Blimey, looks like a cross section of a real grenade!

Anyhoo, this version can be used in any grenade launcher: http://www.airsoftworld.net/tag-innovation-reaper-starter-kit.html
but I'm guessing the 'TAG launcher' is the sabot thingy: http://www.airsoftworld.net/tag-gas-shell-launcher-single.html
in which this fits: http://www.airsoftworld.net/tag-innovation-archangel-impact-activated-projectile-pack-of-10.html

Thusly, excellent for a howitzer project? :D

Or in a tank :D
Measured my barrel ID and its 40 at the breach and 45 on the rest of it but could sleeve it down to get pressure up.

No need to sleeve it down for pressure as the shell is launched from a rifled sabot that you fill with green gas. The rear end of the sabot looks very much like a moscart with a press to fire button and a charging nozzle. The sabot is just under 40mm so may fit as it is. You could probably do with knocking up some way of retaining the sabot and a rudimentary firing pin :good:

OK just like a moscart in spec then I sleeved the barrel breach to take them years back.
